WELCOME
TO THE SMALL SAILORS
A simple concept that has existed for over 150 years in the ponds of the Tuileries garden in Paris close to Louvre. A blow of wind in the sails of these small boats and, with them, sails the happiness of the children as they direct the boats with their gaff.
OPEN FROM APRIL TO NOVEMBER
ATELIER
DESIGN
The tradition of pond sailboats has been linked to the Tuileries by the Rigolage family since 1906. The sailboats are inspired by the work and fishing boats present on the French coasts in the 19th century. Others boats pay tribute to famous naval architects of the sailing world.
MANUFACTURING
The hulls are designed and adapted. Then cut from wood of French origin. The sails are cut, sewn and each piece is implemented in Raphaël's atelier located in the Paris area. Made in France ;) The colored boats are strong and light to be easily handled by kids' hands.
NAVIGATION
Each boat is balanced, tested to be reactive in little wind and stable in higher wind conditions. Behaviors may vary depending on the design: William Fife, Askoï by Jacques Brel, Le Renard de Surcouf, Imoca, etc.
